Life is Stranger Than Fiction

You've probably heard that truth is often stranger than fiction...

let me tell it sure is.

First of I recently found out my 36 year old BFF is pregnant. No big deal right? Lots of women wait until later to have kids now.

Well, this isn't her first. Her oldest and my oldest are only 6 months apart...and both started college this fall. Her middle child is 13, 14 by the time the baby is born.

So can I say "YIKES A BABY!!!"

But what would be an OMG I'm jumping from the nearest bridge moment for me is a happy moment for her because despite her health problems and the wicked turns her life has taken she loves babies and is very happy to be pregnant.

So I say good for her. And I will be more than thrilled to hold her cuddly, cute, chubby little baby and coo and make cute noises to it...then hand it back to her when I'm done :-)

See I was the girl who planned to roam the world like a bohemian artist type so I could write and draw. I was the girl that was never going to get married or have babies.

Well that all got blown out of the water early and I ended up with 3 children who I love very much and I wouldn't give them up for the world.

But I don't want another one. I have never heard my biological clock tick. I don't think I have one.

I already have a 4 year old who is so high maintenance that it makes life difficult to say the least. But he's mine, he's a cutie and I love him very much.

At some point though I do hope to start my life and finally get my career on track. Call me selfish, I don't care. I love my kids and would die for them, hell I'd kill for them but that doesn't mean I have to sacrifice my entire life for them. There's more to my world than mommy land. Call me well rounded :-)

Anyway on to more of lifestyles of the weird and wacky...

The next crazy thing that happened this week is that my 73 year old mom announced she's getting married...

to a guy she met two weeks ago!

Her excuse? They're old and don't know how much time they have left. In her defense she is 73 and he is 79 but come on 2 WEEKS? He could be an ax murderer.

By the way this will be husband number 4 for my mom. Her last one passed 2 years ago.

I know she hates being alone but 2 weeks... I just can't get over 2 weeks.

See he's really religious and doesn't believe in living together or "hanky panky" (her words not mine) before marriage- so they're rushing it. I just wonder what this guy's deal is and if he isn't hiding behind religious excuses for some other much more nefarious purpose.

Yes, I am cynical and have an overactive imagination. Sue me but that's how I think. LOL.

Onto other news. I am now Mrs. Claus. Yes you read that right, I'm married to the big guy in the red suit. OK maybe not the big guy, but one of them.

My husband has occasionally played Santa Claus and loves it. The man is extremely good with kids and is such a kind hearted man. I bought him a Santa suit as his Christmas present. Of course I gave it to him early so he can enjoy it. This year he is learning the ropes and exploring the possibilities but next year we'll be launching a Santa business where he'll be available for rent. (Yup I'm pimping out my man).

He said he'll be available to sick children for free. See- big heart. He's such a softie.

And the only guy I know who can't wait to be an old man so he can grow a big white beard. LOL.

I don't care how old your mom is---she needs to be careful.

I know right?

I am getting the guys name and soc sec # (if I can) and doing a background search on this guy.

I am way too cautious about men as it is- I don't care if this guy is pushing 80- she's my MOM.
