Reel-to-Real

Part of the Echoes and Illusions Anthology

I could really use a wish right now.

I recently heard that in a song by B.O.B and Hayley Williams, and it’s very true. Hello, I’m Moira Castle and there are parts of my life I don’t remember. Most people have a big void or fuzz that covers their past. Mine is blank; there is nothing there. I can’t tell you what it feels like to be awake in an infinite cold. Yet there is something within that cold that keeps me warm. There is something that I keep looking for in the night time sky that is waiting for me. Sometimes when it feels like my dreams are so far, I don’t know what it is but I do know when I look up to those stars, it’s my only hope.

I’m strong on the surface, not all the way through though.

You don’t know what it’s like to wake up stuck in a dream or better put a nightmare. No one listening that my other half is in danger and now this happens. When something you love leaves you, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s a good thing. Moira is my heart, my life and not having her around has been torture. The only time I can have my taste of heaven, to have my vision of rapture is when we are together in our dreams. How can anyone expect a man to suffer like this? Being separated as we were has torture, but I swore to myself I would protect the woman I love, even if it means trying to do things that will hurt me more in the long run.

Will Toren and Moira find a way out of the danger that is after them? Find out in Reel-to-Real.

All About Author Mila Ramos

Mila was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. At an early age she learned the valuable secrets books contained. It all started with the Lois Duncan book, “A Gift of Magic.” Mysterious worlds, far away places helped nourish different ideas and concepts of the real world. It was through this that she discovered a whole new realm of depth.

The books ranged, and as they did so did her love for different types. Starting with William Shakespeare, Mila went through all the literary bests; William Blake, Joseph Conrad, Anais Nin, Leo Tolstoy, Ayn Rand, Maya Angelou, Victor Hugo. Until one day she read a book that changed her life, her first true romance book where characters were real, came to life, and could be the person next door. From there the world expanded from Nora Roberts, Karen Marie Moning, JR Ward, and beyond. With these authors, her writing took a new turn to role group playing and writing in the paranormal scene. Through this, the stories had more vivid ideas and better yet were actually getting heard.

She currently working on her doctorate in Organic Chemistry and resides in Texas, with her husband, family, friends. Her favorite genres are: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Erotica and anything her mind concocts. Crazy and silly as the ideas she sometimes has, her heart is as true as gold and hopes her readers enjoy the stories she writes as much as she loves to write them.

A Review of Carnal Machines Steampunk Erotica

Book Description

The Victorians wrote some of the best and most enduring erotica. For such a tightly-laced age, people spent a lot of time thinking about things carnal. Jules Verne, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Mary Shelley, H.G. Wells, et al enthralled us with their visions of new possibilities. The rich and slightly decadent visuals of the steam age lend themselves perfectly to the new carnality of post-punk era. And, of course, what is repressed will be even more exciting once the corset is unlaced. Steampunk, even without sex, is erotic; with sex, it’s over-the-top hot. A widowed lady engineer invents a small device that can store the energy from sexual frustration and convert it to electricity to help power a home. Teresa Noelle Roberts shows us what it can do, confronted with sexual fulfillment. What volume of steampunk would be complete without a tale of sailing ships and the men who sail them? If your taste runs to sexy pirates in space, Poe Von Page will delight you with the mutinous crew of the Danika Blue and their new captain.

Then there’s the very special room on the top floor in the House of the Sable Locks, a brothel where sexually discriminating men go to have their fantasies fulfilled. Even if a man daren’t put those fantasies into words, Elizabeth Schechter’s “Succubus” will give the madam all the information she needs with which to make her clients happy. There are brothels, flying machines, steam-powered conveyances, manor houses, spiritualist societies. The following stories afford intelligently written, beautifully crafted glimpses into other worlds, where the Carnal Machines won’t fail to seduce you, get you wet or make you hard so, lie back, relax; a happy ending is guaranteed.

My Review:

So I've been in a steampunk mood lately.

I've got Photographs and Phantoms and Steam and Sorcery by Cindy Spencer Paper on my Kindle along with The Girl in the Steel Corset.

I've always been a fan of the Victorian era, corsets, big ball gowns, delicate femininity and a quiet sexuality- all kept under wraps with the guise of prudity.

There's nothing prudish about Carnal Machines, that's for sure.

This collection of naughty Victorian/Steampunk tales will definitely get you all steamed up.

I was quickly drawn into this steamy collection of deviant, delightful, and downright delicious erotic steampunk stories. I think my favorite was Delilah Devlin's "Dr Mullaley's Cure" but I quite enjoyed most of them- including LisaBet Sarai's "Her Own Devices" and Tracey Shellito's "Lucifer Einstein and the Curious Case of the Carnal Contraption".

If you like your steampunk on the naughty side you will LOVE this book.
