What inspired you to become an author?

I always wanted to try writing down the endless stories in my head but I guess the main reason was I am an avid reader and Lucas (my leading man in Spoilt) came to me and I had to write about him.

Do you write in different genres?

No I tend to stick with romance but in a number of sub genres: suspense/crime, historical and paranormal. I also write erotic romance under a pen name.

If yes which is your favorite genre to write?

I would have to say that suspense is my favourite in romance.

Do you title the book first or wait until after it’s complete?

I also have a title, character description and basic plot written out before I start.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Yes, just because someone has a privileged life and seems Spoilt, doesn’t mean they are.

What books/authors have influenced your life?

Paullina Simons and her book The Bronze Horseman, Nora Roberts and several of the classics.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Paullina Simons

What book are you reading now?

Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann

What books are in your to read pile?

Too many to list. I am reading paperbacks and ebooks on my kindle at present and swap between the two.

What is your current “work in progress” or upcoming projects?

I have several works in progress that I must finish! The next projects to be released will be book 4 and 5 in the Spoilt Series, titled The Rookie and Fly Boy.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

I find going into scenic detail most challenging.

Who designed the cover of your latest book?

I design all my covers.

Do you have a song or playlist (book soundtrack) that you think represents this book?

I have a song which I think would work great if Spoilt were to become a movie… The Reason by Hoobastank

Spoilt
Book One
Joanne Ellis

Passion turns to envy. Love to murder. One way or another, everyone is spoilt.

A sadistic killer is stalking the streets, carving his hatred into the bodies of beautiful, young women.

The murders are stirring up bad memories for Detective Lucas Hudson, as he struggles to remain focused - juggling the horrors of today with horrors from the past.

When Chelsea Summerville's best friend goes missing, she's unwillingly dragged into the race to stop the killer.

As Lucas and Chelsea find happiness together, Chelsea becomes the hunted rather than the hunter.

Can Lucas shake off his demons and save the woman he loves, or will everything he holds dear be spoilt?
