What inspired you to become an author?
Our inspiration was reading. We both love to read everything! We both scribbled a little along the way until one day we just wanted to write something. After that, we wanted to get published and were lucky enough to find some editors and readers who liked what we wrote.
Do you have a specific writing style?
Fun. Funny. Humorous. We don’t take life seriously and that shows in our work.
Do you write in different genres?
Yes. Romance. Mystery. Paranormal romance and mystery. Science fiction. Non-fiction.
If yes which is your favorite genre to write?
Anything with paranormal elements.
How did you come up with the title for your latest book?
Murderous Matrimony is about the big, fat Ren Faire wedding of two Ren Faire crazy people, a blue ghost, and a murder. The title seemed appropriate.
Do you title the book first or wait until after it’s complete?
It all depends on the book. Some we title first and change as we write them. Others, the title changes when we’re finished. Some titles make it all the way through.
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Have a good time. Life is short.
What book are you reading now?
Joyce: Cyrion – Tanith Lee
Jim: The Forgotten Planet – Murray Leinster
What is your current “work in progress” or upcoming projects?
Upcoming in January 2014, we have Playing with Fire, the second book in the Sweet Pepper Fire Brigade Mysteries. In February, we have Broken Hearted Ghoul, the first in the Taxi for the Dead paranormal mystery series.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Revisions and editing. Hate them both even though they make a better book.
Who designed the cover of your latest book?
The cover of Murderous Matrimony and Perilous Pranks (the two go together) were designed by Emmie Anne Studios. She is awesome!
Do you have any advice for other writers?
