A Halloween Short Story by R.M. Garry Author of Beacon of Sound

Demon Bride

This Halloween, I am finally going to tell a story that only my father knows about. Since I am an author, reality and fiction will run together so don’t bother verifying any of this information. Just keep in mind that most of this story is true. Names and ages have been changed to protect the naughty. Everyone in this story is of legal drinking age.  Hope you enjoy the story.

Halloween Many Moons Ago

I have always had a deep love for Kompa music. Even as a little girl, the sound of live instruments setting the mood for the beautiful voice of a lead singer excited me. As a woman, Kompa became more than Haitian dancehall music. It was the embodiment of passion on the dance floor. The lead singer would seduce you with his erotic words while the band kept your body moving.  No woman can resist the pull of Kompa music. The songs could last for 15 to 20 minutes each depending on how the band felt that night. The feeling of being caressed by the music and my partner always left me high and needy.  One night my favorite band came to Tampa. It would be my first opportunity to see T-Vice live. Just the thought of dancing for the lead singer made me hot. Yes, I was the ultimate groupie except I never slept with any members of the band.

The concert was on Halloween night which fell on a Friday that year. My friend David was kind enough to buy tickets for the concert. We weren’t dating but loved dancing close to our favorite bands. We would go together but expected to leave separately that night. I would drive home alone to study for my biology test and he would take some willing woman to his bed. David was gorgeous. He had dark chocolate eyes and perfect chestnut skin. He was 6’1” and covered in muscle. I guess playing wide receiver for the university’s football team did wonders for his body. I was overjoyed and wanted to kiss David for the gift.

“David, if you didn’t freely give your body to everyone, I would go home with you tonight.”

“Wow Reya, I have tried to get you naked so many times that the thought of bedding you gives me blue balls. Now I find out that concert tickets to an amazing Haitian band would have done the trick.”

“Shut it David. I will meet you at the door at 7:15.”

“Again Reya, you are always late but will be on time for T-Vice. They must have super powers.”

“Yes they do David. They are music Gods. Behave or no sexy dance for you tonight.”

“Later Reya.”

“Later David.”

I poured three hours into getting ready. My hair took an hour to flat iron and curl. My makeup consisted of blood red lipstick and dark eyeliner. I wanted to look mysterious and seductive. Even if I was coming home to my books, I still wanted to have a good time. The outfit that was sitting in the back of my closet would finally see the light. It was a short red dress that had the entire middle cutout except for a small connecting strip down the right side. The outfit required a strapless bra which was nearly impossible for my double D breasts. For T-Vice, I forced my boobs into cooperation.   The outfit was completed by a pair of black 5 inch strappy sandals. My feet would be sore in the morning, but it would be worth it.

I arrived at 7:10 and waited in my car for David. True to form, David arrived at 7:15. I saw him approaching my car.  He was deliciously dressed in a pair of black dress pants and a dark green dress shirt. The shirt as rolled up at the sleeves which revealed his serpent tattoo. He opened my door and took my hand. I stood up and he whistled.

“Damn girl, you are going to get me into a fight tonight. These men will want to devour you.”

“I don’t need to be devoured David. I just want to dance and if they get carried away, you know the signal.”

We had developed a unique way of signaling for help. I would play the irritated girlfriend if a girl turned into a dance floor stalker and he would do the same for me. All it took was holding four fingers in the air. It was weird but worked especially with aggressive men.  We entered the dance hall and I was immediately caressed by the lead singer’s voice. Every single note in the melody called to me. David gave the promoter our tickets and we made our way to the dance floor. The first song was Sensation. I gave myself over to David and the music. Our bodies touched, rubbed, and swayed. David held me close and rubbed my back as we fell deeper into the band’s rhythm. His sure touch combined with the erotic music made me almost forget the man in my arms was David. David must have felt the same way.

He leaned down and whispered a confession. His voice was deep and needy.

“Reya, I have to dance with someone else on the next song. If we do this all night, we are going home together. We are different tonight. I can feel it.”

“Ok David, but rescue me.”

“Always Reya.”

The song ended and we parted ways. I went towards the bar and he buried himself in the crowd. My skin was humming from the sensual touch of David’s firm hands. David was right. We were different tonight. At any given moment, I would have went home with him and changed the simplicity of our friendship.  The bartender caught a glimpse of my red dress and came over.

“Ki sa ou anvi bel fanm. What do you desire beautiful woman.”

“Wonm kokoye ak cola. Coconut Rum and coke.”

The bartender mixed the drink and handed it to me. I reached into my purse to pay when I felt a firm hand on my arm. I looked up and fell into the most vivid hazel eyes I had ever seen. They were electric. My throat went dry as I attempted to look away. My eyes finally came back to life and I saw the rest of him. His skin was golden brown and seemed to glow against his white dress shirt. As if the package was not delicious enough, the shirt molded to his well-defined muscles. His slacks fit his perfect hips. My body ignited into flames. He was hot. The man handed the bartender a $20 and pulled me away from the bar. I finally found my good sense and voice.

“Thank you for the drink Mr…”

“Jacob. What is your name beauty?”

He was a classic Haitian man. Every woman was beauty to a Haitian man.

“My friends call me Reya.”

“What is your real name?”

“One drink does not buy you that much Jacob.”

“Does it buy me a dance Reya?”

“Ok, let me finish my drink.”

Ok, this is the point where my too pretty to spill my drink instincts kicked in.  I sipped slowly. Jacob watched me and I felt like prey. He leaned in and stroked the length of my throat as I tilted my head back to finish the last of my drink.

“I want to kiss your throat Reya. Will you let me?”

He was so close I could smell his cologne. It smelled fresh yet subtle. I didn’t respond verbally. I tilted my head back and he kissed me gently. Heat pooled in my belly and I almost melted on the spot. He stepped back and led me to the dance floor. Jacob wrapped his strong hands around my waist and pulled me in close. His thigh was placed in between my legs. T-Vice started playing Loving You and our bodies began to move. We were not dancing.

Jacob was making love to me. My sex pulsed every time it rubbed against his thigh. The music grew louder and Jacob held me even tighter. His breath tickled my ear when he leaned in really close to whisper.

“Moan for me Reya. I know you want to. Give it to me beauty.”

Like a finely tuned cello, I moaned for Jacob. I closed my eyes and Jacob dug a hand into my hair and made our bodies rub even tighter. I moaned then whimpered. As the song hit a crescendo, an orgasm tore through my body.  Before I could cry out, he captured my lips. He sucked each one then pushed his tongue into my willing mouth. He tasted so sweet. It was as if his mouth was made of the silkiest chocolate. The kiss turned molten and his hand dug into my hip. Jacob pulled away and I looked into his hazel eyes.

“Give yourself to me Reya. Let me take you to a place you have never been. I want to conquer you mind body and soul. All you have to do is say yes.”

He kissed my throated and pushed me towards another climax. My eyes rolled shut. I was lost in his touch. I wanted to give myself to Jacob. I needed to go to this place. Yet my mind and mouth responded with “No.”

I opened my eyes to find David smiling down at me.

“You called for a rescue so here I am.”

“When did I call?”

“I looked over a minute ago and saw your fingers and came right over. I am not sure who I was saving you from because you were dancing alone.”

“You didn’t see the guy practically doing me on the dance floor.”

David looked concerned. Then he nodded as if coming to some decision.

“Reya, it’s time to go home.”

“Ok David.”

I never said a word to David about Jacob. The whole experience left me cold. I called my dad in the morning and told him almost everything. I left out every bit of the naughty stuff except for the kiss. He told me that there is an old legend told in the countryside of Haiti.

Demons will often take the form of human men in order to claim brides. On days like Halloween or The Day of the Dead, demons are extremely powerful. Some part of me realized that Jacob was very bad and it caused me to call for a rescue.  If not for David, I would have been a Demon bride. The next time you run into a man named Jacob on Halloween say no and run away.

I hope you enjoyed the story.  Happy Halloween.
