Interview and Giveaway with Ami Blackwelder

Do you write in different genres?

I currently write in Paranormal and SciFi genres, but my new pen name M. Black will be writing under Dystopia and Thrillers and can be found at http://MiaBlackthrillers.blogspot.com. I also write under another pen name Rebecca May for Historical and Contemporary Romances and those can be found at http://RebeccaMayRomances.blogspot.com

How did you come up with the title for your latest book?

I wanted to use the idea of junk DNA for awhile and wanted to play with the notion that humans all have this junk DNA that we don’t understand, but in fact is not junk at all but harbors all kinds of special abilities that lay dormant.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

The message overall in the AngelFire Chronicles is fighting for love and fighting for goodness. However other themes are about forbidden passions conquering evil and prejudice, hatred and jealousy.

Is the book, characters, or any scenes based on a true life experience, someone you know, or events in your own life?

Not really, but they feel very real in my own head, LOL;)

What book are you reading now?

I am reading Wither, Fever and Sever by Lauren Destefano and while loving the first book find myself plowing through the second so I can read the last. After this series I want to read the Lux series by Jennifer Armentrout.

What books are in your to read pile?

Gosh, too many, LOL…Unravel Me, Crewel, Partials, Matched, Delirium.

What is your current “work in progress” or upcoming projects?

EXOTIQA is my newest project under the pen name M.Black and can be found at http://MiablackThrillers.blogspot.com. This is a dystopia set in the future. I don’t want to say much else about this secret project until the story is done, but the cover reveals a bit. I can say there is a lot going on in this novel, a lot of layers to the story and a lot of originality that you won’t get from other stories.

Who designed the cover of your latest book?

I designed the cover for ANGEL CODES

Do you have a song or playlist (book soundtrack) that you think represents this book?

For AngelFire Chronicles I loved listening to Misha Mishenko
