My interest in writing started at an early age. When I was in the third grade, my elementary school principal gave me a copy of Beezus and Ramona. From the moment I finished the book, I wanted to write adventures for other children to read. Needless to say, that didn’t happen but the seeds were planted for the future.
How did you decide to make the move into being a published author?
A few years ago, my husband was reading an article on NaNoWriMo (Nation Novel Writing Month) and suggested I participate. At first, I wasn’t sure I should do it since I’d placed my writing aspirations on hold over twenty-five years before hand, but then I thought, why not and signed up. I never did anything with that first novel, but it gave me the push I needed to pursue writing.
What do you want readers to take away from reading your works?
What I want my readers to take away the most is that my books gave them an escape for reality and show them a world where smart, strong, and successful women can have enriching and fulfilling love stories.
What do you find most rewarding about writing?
The ability to give the characters in my head a happily ever after.
What do you find most challenging about writing?
Making sure, I convey my lead character’s GMC (Goals, Motivations, and Conflicts) throughout the whole book. Sometimes it is easy to become sidetracked with unnecessary scenes and take the lead in a direction that doesn’t flow with the story.
What advice would you give to people want to enter the field?
The one piece of advice I would tell aspiring authors is to keep moving forward through all the hardships and struggles. It is easy to give up, but keep trying. This is a marathon, not a race.

Writing was her childhood aspiration, but her loving parents encouraged her to seek a “real job.” So, she placed her secret passion on hold and went on to receive two bachelor’s degrees and two masters degrees.
After a prolific career as a management consultant and the completion of her husband’s medical degree, she became a stay at home mom and PTO Goddess.
