Chapter fifteen of The Fallen Chronicles: Forbidden Angel is proving to be the bane of my existence this week so let me share my experience from Monday to Friday!
Why Writer’s Block Sucks
1) Turning on my laptop and staring at a flashing cursor like my brain is a slug going uphill through molasses in winter.
2) Actually becoming hypnotized by the repeated flashing of said cursor.
3) I start participating in the imaginary arguments between fictional characters in my head…leading to…
4) Wondering if I have a real need for anti-psychotic medication.
5) Frustration building to the point where I’d willingly trade places with ANY of my characters – including the ones currently trapped in the Abyss of Souls…the darkness may allow me to get some sleep!
Why Writer’s Block Rocks
1) My home has never been so well vacuumed – despite the vacuuming
occurring repeatedly at 3am…(the house is clean, but the cats are terrified!).
2) The crown moulding in my living room finally got painted…at midnight…two nights in a row…
3) I’ve gotten halfway through re-watching Star Trek Deep Space Nine for the first time since it aired and love it as much as I did the first time (thank you NetFlix)!
4) Driving around in the middle of the night playing my favourite tunes with nobody else on the road (as I try to plug a plot hole) is relaxing.
5) I get to share this experience with everyone in the Blogosphere! Poking fun at something we all go through as authors makes it so much more fun!

Excerpt
“Are you okay?” Katia said, standing in the doorway
of the bathroom.
Turning his head towards the sound
of her voice, Luc was struck dumb yet again, but for an entirely new
reason. Katia was leaning with one
shoulder against the doorframe, the steam from the bathroom hung in the air
behind her like mist. She was wearing
the oversized white t-shirt from earlier, but now it hung loose covering the
tops of her thighs, but leaving the rest of her thin, toned legs bare. Her wet hair hung in one long braid over the
front of one shoulder. Luc’s mouth
watered as he imagined tracing that phoenix tattoo with his tongue. With her doe-like mismatched eyes, fine
features, and small, thin body, she looked like an otherworldly princess that
had wandered out of her fairy tale and found herself in this awful motel. Luc’s breath caught in his throat.
“Yup, everything’s good,” he said in
a strangled voice.
Giving
him a dubious look, Katia headed towards the bed, pulled back the covers and sat
down leaning back against the headboard.
Luc turned back to the mirror, watching her in it as she flipped her
braid over her shoulder and leaned her head back with a sigh. Locking eyes with his own reflection, Luc
started to mentally panic. There was a small
problem — well, not a small problem, and it was getting bigger.

Reviews
It’s been a while since I’ve read a fallen angels novel, and I now remember why I loved them so much! This is my first book from this author and I’ve added her to my favorite author’s list. Love can change everything. Even the darkest soul can shine again when they find a reason…I can’t wait to read the rest of their stories. ~ The Secret World of Book Lovers Carla Maggiolo
