Making Christmas Sexy Guest Blog with Silke Juppenlatz

Making Christmas Sexy

Is there anything sexier than curling up with a hot guy in front of a fireplace decorated with holly and ribbons, the Christmas tree and the open fire providing the only light in the room? Snow drifting past the window outside?

I’m sure the guys would argue, but for us girls…well. It gives me an “Ahhhh….” feeling, deep down.

Actually, there are other things that make Christmas sexy for me. There is something about having a snowball fight, laughing until you’re out of breath, walking in the woods in cold, crisp air, with your hands twined to keep them warm. It makes coming home to snuggle and warm up twice as wonderful.

My heroes would take the snowball fight over most other things. Not only because they get to chase the girl around, but also because there is always an excuse to tussle and dump them in the snow. Or pretend they are mortally wounded after being hit by a snowflake, and need kissing better. Ah, the things you can get up to during a snowball fight…

Although, Ash is too conservative (on the outside) to engage in such frivolous behavior. I mean, sheesh. Surely having snow dumped all over you isn’t a dignified pastime for an angel -- even a disgraced one. At least that’s what he’d make you believe, when in fact -- he’d love a snowball fight.

He’s the kind of guy who will help cook Christmas dinner. He’d feed you morsels all the way through and wouldn’t actually allow you to do anything, but still make you feel like you’ve done it, rather than him. (He might let you mix the stuffing, if you’re lucky.)

Jo is the practical kind, but shy and always afraid of doing something wrong, or causing trouble for someone. If she hit you with a snowball, she’d be running to check that she didn’t hurt you. (Makes for a great opportunity for that tussle and obligatory soaping of the face with snow.)

It just occurred to me that both books I have out right now are set in winter.
Not sure how that happened. :)

I very much enjoyed creating Ash and Jo, and having the town of Five Oaks come to life around them -- but I had help with the latter. My fellow critique partners who collaborated on the anthology “A Passionate Christmas”, which Smitten is part of, added their own unique areas to the town and populated it with secondary characters you will probably recognize from your own town.

You don’t need to read all of the stories to be able to follow what’s going on, but if you do read all of them, you’ll probably end up loving Five Oaks and it’s heroes and heroines as much as we did when we created the town and its citizens.

I think Christmas is a special time, and working on this anthology made all of us think about what it means to each of us.

How do you make Christmas sexy?

Do you make a game out of decorating the tree? To me, it’s another good one you can take advantage of. Let’s face it, there is more than the tree that can end up decorated. :P

Or give each other pre-Christmas treats. Show me a guy who won’t know what to do with body chocolate…

So…what do you do?

Howl by Silke Juppenlatz

Reserved and shy Jo Button is tired of being the talk of the town.

Enough is enough. Time to put her plans in motion, but a mishap forces her to seek out veterinarian Ash Delaney—the one man she has always wanted.

Ex-Guardian Angel Ashriel, isn't too happy when the reason for his de-haloed state shows up and requests his help. He has avoided Jo Button for ten years, and could quite happily go another ten without seeing her—until he realizes her battered reputation was his fault.

Can Ashriel save Jo, even if it means redemption is beyond his grasp, or will he lose his halo permanently along with the woman he's come to care for?

About the Author:

Silke grew up in Germany and is used to things going bump in the night -- and it wasn't always the acrophobic cat, or someone hitting their head on a low beam on the ceiling.

She writes paranormal romance, usually at night, but these days the only thing going bump at "oh-dark-thirty" is her -- usually when she smacks into the sofa while creeping to the kitchen for another cup of coffee.

When she is not writing, she can be found on the back of her dapple gray Paso Fino, somewhere in the Surrey countryside.

Silke likes to hear from her readers.

Feel free to contact her via her blog at http://www.evilauthor.com, follow her on Twitter, look her up on Goodreads or become a friend on Facebook and G+.

How fun Silke! I hate to admit that I haven't read any of the books from the anthology yet, but they are in my nook queue as we speak.

Lord knows you ladies have tempted me enough and I'm dying to sink my teeth into these stories.

This is a great story. I wish I had a fireplace to snuggle beside, but I don't - so maybe I'll just light a bunch of candles!
