HERS, the 5th FITZGERALD book.
1. Do
you have a specific writing style?
I spend weeks thinking about my characters and the
plot. When the story gels in my head, I sit and write…write…and write. Does
that make me a panster? I don’t think so. But I’m not what you call a
traditional plotter either. Somehow, once the story gels in my head and I start
to write, it just unfolds. I have an amazing way of memorizing my characters’
traits. I have 4 WHIPs brewing in my head right now and I can tell you the
backgrounds of all the major players in each story.
2. Do
you write in different genres?
I write contemporary adult romance and YA urban
fantasy and paranormal romance.
3. If
yes which is your favorite genre to write?
I can’t say I have a favorite. Switching back and
forth does wonders for my creativity though. After writing scorching love
scenes, I like to kick back with a teen romance or fantasy. There’s freshness to
the way teenagers view the world and an endearing intensity in their love.
4. Do
you title the book first or wait until after it’s complete?
I write first then name the book later.
5. If
you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
YA author Jennifer Lauren. She is my critique
partner and a friend.
6. What
book are you reading now?
A Touch of Death by Kelly Hashway
7. What
is your current “work in progress” or upcoming projects?
I’m working on the next Fitzgerald book, Lex’s
story. I’m also mentally plotting a new paranormal series about witches and
Nephilim (demons and Guardians)
I also have a new YA series about reapers. My agent
has book 1 and I’m working on book 2. And last, I’m ¼ through the next Guardian
Legacy series.
8. Can
you share a little of your current work with us?
Sure. Here’s a short excerpt from the next
Fitzgerald book:
“This
is some nasty bruise you have there, sweetheart,” Chris called out.
Jillian
Campbell studied the bluish patch of skin on her right hip and sighed. That
memento was from last night. Several more covered her upper arms. She bruised
easily but the blotchy marks weren’t painful. They were just ugly. Her gaze
connected with her partner-in-crime—Chris Landers the genius who hid her
bruises so no one would notice them.
“They’re
nothing.”
“Of
course. I’ll blend the right concealers to cover them up before your next
scene,” Chris mumbled through clenched jaws.
“You
are not going to lecture me again?”
He
glared. “What good would that do, Jill? You are stubborn and blindly loyal. If
the studio finds out the cause of those bruises and that I’ve been enabling
you—”
“Enabling
is such an ugly word.” She gave him a toothy grin when he scowled.
“We’ll
be finished in this town,” he finished.
She
and Chris were Hollywood’s dynamic duo—the brilliant stunt coordinator and his
most daring stunt woman. In the past five years, Jillian had doubled for many
female action stars under Chris’s watchful eyes. Presently, they were working
on the third installment of the successful futuristic movie, Terra Frost, where she doubled for the
female lead character. As long as they kept producing the series, which had a
huge teenage and female following, she would always have a job. Chris was right
about one thing, if the new producer learned about her nocturnal activities,
she would be out of a job. No, she’d be out of show business altogether. Her
insurance didn’t cover the daredevil acts she’d been pulling the past week and
no studio worked with uninsured stunt artists.
“I
couldn’t say no,” Jillian whispered. “They’re family, and they really need me
this time.”

EDNAH WALTERS grew up reading Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys and dreaming of one day writing her own stories. She finished her PhD in chemistry, married the love of her life, and decided to be a stay-at-home mother. She now lives in a picturesque valley in Utah with her husband, five children and two American short-hair cats. When she is not writing, you can find her doing things with her family, reading, traveling or online chatting with fans.
