A writer should never admit it, but a picture is
still worth a thousand words. When I describe the Greek god sculpted body of
Antinous in Isis Erotica, with wrestler’s muscles smooth as marble, the statue
you see here is what I have in mind.

Polykleitos statue of the athlete Diadoumenos. Athens, Greece |
This marble is a Roman copy (2000 years old) of a Greek bronze by a sculptor named
Polykleitos who lived about 500 BC (24 centuries ago.)
Polykleitos was one of the first artists to use
the stance that we today call contrapposto,
Italian for the relaxed way the
athlete is standing with the shifted balance of weight on one leg. The pose had
its revival with the great Renaissance sculptors Michelangelo and Donatello.
But enough art history. Still, I can’t resist
telling a little about the true story of the Greek teenager, Antinous, who was
so beautiful he captured the heart of Emperor Hadrian of Rome.
In this photo you see a bust of the real Antinous
that I have in my living room.

bust of Antinous the god in my living room |
My statue, which I bought at the same antique mall
in Las Vegas as the Red Mirror, is a copy of a Roman marble. Originals are
found in many museums, including the Prado in Madrid, Spain.
There were thousands of statues of Antinous in the
ancient world because Hadrian made him a god when he drowned in the Nile at age
19. Temples sprang up all over the Eastern Mediterranean. Hadrian even built a
city in Egypt at the spot where Antinous died. Sadly today there is nothing to
see of once glorious Antinoopolis.
The death of Antinous is one of the true unsolved mysteries
of history. Did he commit suicide? Was he murdered? Was he sacrificed to
transfer his life force to aging and ailing Hadrian?
I give my own version of his tragic drowning in
the Nile in my book The Black Scroll.
Antinous is one of the reincarnating circle of souls meeting in the several
lifetimes of Isis portrayed in the Red Mirror Series. The incarnation of
Antinous in Isis Erotica is a full-fledged man and one of the ardent lovers of
our Isis.

Book Description
Would you dare step back in time to find Mr. Right?
A frustrated Las Vegas party girl discovers a Red Mirror in an antique mall and succumbs to the lure of the bold-eyed woman in the glass. “Come,” the Mirror beckons, “taste of a life more sensuous than any dream.”
The exotic life that tempts is one she once lived as Isis, priestess in the mystic cult of Hathor, Egyptian Goddess of Love. "I have secrets," her aura teased. "Wonderful secrets that only I can share."
On the banks of the ancient Nile, she meets River God of bronzed flesh and snowy linen. "You shall fly to the stars with my tongue on your lotus," he breathes in her ear. Alas, the gods have other plans. Isis finds herself first on a quest for the all-powerful Emerald Tablet, and then without warning, back in Las Vegas.
Uncertain and unnerved, Isis joins best friend Barb for a surprise encounter that compels her to go back through the Red Mirror in search of River God. But a desert hunt goes all wrong, and Isis the sex slave lands in the grip of the Persian General's thick fingers. "If you please me," he proposes, "you will belong to me and me alone, but only as long as I am pleased." One fateful night, a ride on a comet shows Isis the dark side of love and sets the price she must pay for freedom.
"There is more to this collection than a love story. Add in reincarnation and mysterious artifacts that cross time. The writing is high quality and full of imagery. I highly recommend Ms Gore's work."
Four hot men crossing back and forth through time. They all want her. Who will have her? Does she have to choose?
Who says a woman should have only one man?
Who says there's a Mr. Right?
One man is not enough for Isis. One life is not enough.
She has the Power - The Hathor Power.
Author's note: If you want to go right to the juicy parts, use the special Table of Contents to jump to those vignettes.
"I was transported through time to a world of Egyptian gods and goddesses, temples and high priestesses, honeyed dates and cleansing oils. And a woman who will never be satisfied by just one man, although Isis does love them all with great intensity. She has great taste too - these men are to die for."
The Isis Erotica collection is comprised of three connected adventures that can be downloaded as ebooks in three parts: The Red Mirror, The Persian General and The Great Green
Part One: The Red Mirror. Who knew an old mirror in an antique store would promise pleasures more sensuous than any dream? Isis meets River God of bronzed flesh and snowy linen, the man with The Touch. She will do anything to feel that touch, even cross through time.
Part Two: The Persian General. A wild desert hunt goes all wrong when Isis is kidnapped by the Persian General. A bull of a man with legs like the columns of a temple, he holds her life in his thick fingers. But Isis has a destiny, and Isis has the Power - the Hathor Power.
Part Three: The Great Green. Isis is the chosen one, chosen by her father Hermes Trismegistus to protect the Emerald Tablet. But Isis needs protection herself from the evil Crown Prince and the invading Persians. Cosmic forces bring together the circle of souls in two passion-filled nights - one below deck on River God's ship on the Nile and the other on the Las Vegas Strip.

I've always been fascinated with Greek mythology. I love it when authors incorporate it into modern fiction.
Greek mythology is very fascinating. I love books based on the myths.
