Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, Roxanne, for having me on
your blog today. I’ve been here one time before talking about firemen for my
book, In Flames. This time I’m here
to discuss older men to coincide with my latest Evernight Publishing
May-December romance release, Board
Approved, book 2 in the Taking Advantage series. Seems whenever I visit
you, we are discussing men! :-)
Board Approved
centers on a twenty-seven year old yoga instructor, Tessa Mills, and the
forty-two year old corporate law attorney, Greg Snow, who melted her heart!
Tessa had her share of hard knocks. Her mother was an abusive alcoholic and her
love life kicked her while she was down. But Tessa picked herself up and made a
life for herself, leaving love out of the equation for a while… at least until
Greg swept in. So, I ask you – why are older men so appealing? What attracts us
to them? Here’s what I think. Let me know if you agree.
· Emotional
Maturity – Yep, I said it. Young men tend to be emotionally immature. And
we all know that women mature at a faster rate than men anyway. Us women are
emotional beings that are more apt to express our emotions, sometimes to a
fault. Those emotions can cause us problems in relationships, particularly with
men that don’t know how to deal with or express their own. Older men tend to
have the ability to empathize, show vulnerability and openly communicate. That,
in and of itself, is attractive because we can be ourselves and have a more
fulfilling partner.
·
Financial
Security – And I’m not talking about acquiring a “sugar daddy.” Although
I’m not against it either! ;) But an older man is more likely to be set in his
career and secure in his financial position. Fewer struggles with credit card
debt or school loans. He has a better handle on his finances. He knows where
his money comes from and where it goes. He’s less likely to be living paycheck
to paycheck or to look to you for financial support. That’s a relief.
·
More
Refined – Wine. Food. Theatre. Music. Travel. Life’s experiences have given
him an appreciation for what life has to offer. He may like to throw back a few
beers on Saturday afternoon while cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes, but he
also enjoys taking his lady to the ballet and a nice dinner on Saturday night.
·
Confidence
– Confidence is attractive. Arrogance not so much. I’ve noticed that an older
man carries himself with poise like he believes in and is sure of himself. He
doesn’t need to brag about his accomplishments or successes. Those things are
evident in his actions.
·
Experience
– And I saved the best for last because I honestly think a lot of the appeal of
an older man comes from his experience. He has life experience. I don’t mean
just sexually, but that certainly plays a huge role. We’ve all dated that guy
when we were in college that didn’t know his way around a female body and
thought sex was simply intercourse. An older man not only knows the female
body, but he understands that her pleasure is just as important as his. How can
you say no to that?! All of his experiences, sexually and otherwise, contribute
to what makes the older man an appealing man.

Book Description:
After his divorce, Greg Snow dedicated his life to his work as a corporate attorney in a large law firm and as a member of the board of directors of Advantage Insurance Company. He liked it that way… at least that’s what he thought until Tessa Mills entered his life.
Growing up with an alcoholic mother and never knowing her father, Tessa Mills has not had an easy life. And her relationship decisions have been less than stellar. But she’s finally making a life for herself and running her own business – a yoga studio. It’s her saving grace and that’s all she needs… until Greg Snow turns her world upside down.
Tessa and Greg have a strong attraction, but is it enough to overcome all their differences?
About the Author:
I am a born and raised small town Ohio girl, who moved to the Sunshine State after graduating from college. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in English because I could not imagine doing anything else but reading and writing. It is such a pleasure to be able to share all the stories in my head!
In the journey of life, I also became a wife and a mother of three children. So, life is always an adventure. But the love of writing has never died.
My favorites: I love to read and write... obviously! But I also enjoy all sports, especially college football and the Ohio State Buckeyes! Go Steelers! Go Rays! I LOVE to travel... LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to travel. And I love sharing my love to travel with my children. I love to drink Teavana teas! I love a good glass of wine, especially if it comes from a bottle made by the FOOLS wine club… yep, I’m a member of that! I love hanging out with my family and my friends! Big fan of music, but love nothing better than putting on my jean shorts, tank top, cowboy boots and hat and watching Tim McGraw belt it out! I’m a sucker for a cowboy hat!
Favorite quote: “If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.”
