What
inspired you to become an author?
I’ve always loved reading and I wrote off and on
when I was a teenager. Angst-y awful poems! I contacted a writer and through
our flurry of emails he suggested I try writing again. I took a creative
writing class an promptly fell in love with it.
Do
you have a specific writing style?
I think I have a certain voice when it comes to my
romance stories. I also write under the pseudonym Billie Jones and that is very
different to my normal style. More of a pulpy type of fiction.
Do
you write in different genres?
Yes, I’ll try anything to challenge myself. I write
short stories as well as longer work, so I do try and experiment just to see if
I can do it.
If
yes which is your favorite genre to write?
My favourite is romance, or romantic comedy. Love is
fun!
Do
you title the book first or wait until after it’s complete?
I usually think of the title first for some reason!
What
books/authors have influenced your life?
Gosh, so many! I love Rohinton Mistry’s ‘A fine
balance’ and anything by Simon Van Booy. I love the Bridget Jones books. I’ll
have to look through my Goodreads list!
If
you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
If I had to choose one that I would love to work
with it would be Simon Van Booy. He writes about love in such a gorgeous
haunting way. And he’s pretty hot to look at too!
What
book are you reading now?
I’m reading ‘Walking on trampolines,’ by Frances
Whiting. It’s brilliant!
What
books are in your to read pile?
I have a lot of Carina authors’ books to read. I’ve
read three now and they’ve all been fantastic. I have a new Simon Van Booy, and
too many others. I often worry the books beside my bed will fall on me during
the night and suffocate me! Plus all the books on my kindle!
Do
you have a song or playlist (book soundtrack) that you think represents this
book?
Yes, here is a spotify list. So may amazing
Christmas songs to get you feeling Merry!

Book Description:
Christmas is the season the Gingerbread Café was made for…but owner Lily couldn’t be feeling less merry if she tried. She’s spent another year dreaming of being whisked away on a sleigh-ride for two, but she’s facing festive season alone – again. And, just to give her another reason to feel anything other than candy-cane perky, a new shop across the road has opened… Not only is it selling baked goods, but the owner, with his seriously charming smile, has every girl in town swooning.
But Lily isn’t about to let her business crumble — the Gingerbread Café is the heart of the community, and she’s going to fight for it! This could be the Christmas that maybe, just maybe, all her dreams – even the someone-to-decorate-the-Christmas-tree-with ones – really do come true!

About the Author:
Rebecca Raisin is a true bibliophile.
This love of books morphed into the desire to write them. She’s been widely published in various short story anthologies, and in fiction magazines, and is now focusing on writing romance. The only downfall about writing about gorgeous men who have brains as well as brawn, is falling in love with them – just as well they’re fictional. Rebecca aims to write characters you can see yourself being friends with. People with big hearts who care about relationships, and most importantly, believe in true love.
