Interview with Krissy Daniels

What inspired you to become an author?

I’ve always loved writing. My girlfriend and I used to drink daiquiris and play writing games. It wasn’t until my children got older that I  regenerated enough of my brain cells to start writing for real.

Do you have a specific writing style?

If I do, I haven’t figured out what it is yet.

Do you write in different genres?

Yes. Yes I do write in different genres. Currently paranormal and erotic romantic suspense. I’ve got plans for a NA series, but that’s in the distant future.

If yes which is your favorite genre to write?

Ooh. That’s tough. With paranormal, you get to make up your own rules, which is so freeing. With contemporary, there’s more research involved,  which can be fun too. I don’t think I can pick a favorite. Maybe after I’ve got a few more under my belt I’ll be able to answer this one.

How did you come up with the title for your latest book?

Aflame had two titles previously. It was hard because I’d come up with a title    and think it was brilliant, then I’d google it and there’d be a million similar    titles already published. I loved Aflame because it’s such a simple, pretty  word and it suits Grayce, the heroine perfectly.

Do you title the book first or wait until after it’s complete?

I usually start with a title. But as I mentioned in the previous question, titles can change.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

I love this question. Yes! There are a few in Aflame. Guess what? I’m not  telling what they are. I don’t want to rob the readers of discovering for themselves. Hopefully, some will get it. If they don’t that’s okay too. As long as they enjoy the ride!

Is the book, characters, or any scenes based on a true life experience, someone you know, or events in your own life?

The emotion behind the book, Grayce in particular, came from real life experiences. Three of my closest female friends were dealing with adultery or some level of abuse in their relationships and there was nothing I could do or say to ease their pain. My frustration transferred to Grayce.

What books/authors have influenced your life?

I can’t say that any particular book influenced my life. I love so many for so    many different reason. When I feel like I need to dig deep, I love to pull out  Fever Dream by George RR Martin. Holy Moly, the way that man brings characters to life just blows my mind.

What book are you reading now?

I just finished Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher. I was nervous to start that one because I knew it was going to haul me through a shit storm of unpleasant emotions—which it did. I’m still processing…

What is your current “work in progress” or upcoming projects?

I’m deep in edits with How to Kill Your Boss which is coming out in July. I’m also working on Aglow, book two of the Apotheosis series.

Who designed the cover of your latest book?

Renee Rocco! Isn’t it pretty. Damn, that woman makes some beautiful covers.

To save her soul, he’ll let her burn.

Grayce has been on the run for years. Having escaped an abusive relationship with a violent psychopath, she is trying to rebuild her life one small step at a time. Things are going well until Zander crosses her path, badass and sexy as hell. His presence awakens heated desires she long ago buried. Last thing Grayce wants is a man, and the way her body reacts to Zander scares her more than the threat of being found.

Tyr will do anything to get his little dove back. She is a Beacon, and her raw, burning energy gives him power and strength. More than the evil that already compels him. But a blond giant of a man hovers protectively around her. No matter. He’ll play with him too.

When Zander rescues Grayce from Tyr’s first attempt to reclaim her, he reveals his superhuman abilities. Power that Grayce also has, but has yet to understand. As predestined soul mates, Zander must help Grace control her rage before her fire threatens to destroy everyone and everything in her path. But his true challenge is more than that—to show her it’s possible to trust and love again.

About the Author:

Krissy is a full time writer, reader and lover of all things romance.

As a child surrounded by the great outdoors, life was full of adventure that fueled an overactive imagination and ignited a passion for storytelling. Whether it be dolls, or running free through the wooded areas surrounding her home, playtime always included a tormented villain, a damsel in dis-tress and a larger than life hero.

After relentless encouragement from friends and family, she finally put the characters in her head to pen and paper. The only thing she loves more than curling up with a steamy romance novel, is cozying up to her desk and writing her own sexy adventures to share with others.
