What
inspired you to become an author?
That first book. It wasn’t so much that I aspired to
be an author as I had to write. It’s
still that way today. Not writing isn’t an option.
Do
you write in different genres?
I’m busy plotting out a psychological thriller
romance. I’m really enjoying the change.
If
yes which is your favorite genre to write?
I think SFR will always be a favorite because you
have aliens and psi and anything is possible. Portal to another world? Sure, as
long as you know a Portal Master J
How
did you come up with the title for your latest book?
My son came up with it. It was almost Alien
Attraction. In hind sight, that probably
would have been better. Book two will have a different title but positioned as
‘an Alien Attachments Romance’.
Do
you title the book first or wait until after it’s complete?
Titles are hard. I think it’s easier to do after the
book is finished. You never know what twist or turn will show up that will make
a good title.
Is
there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
I’m a human who desperately wishes she had psi?
Is
the book, characters, or any scenes based on a true life experience, someone
you know, or events in your own life?
I wish :-)
What
books/authors have influenced your life?
Gini Koch. She’s the reason I created my Sandarian
Empire. I loved her Alien series so much I wanted to create my own.
What
book are you reading now?
I just downloaded Liza O’Connor’s The Troublesome
Apprentice. I haven’t started it yet, but it sounds fun.
What
books are in your to read pile?
I don’t even want to think about that. There are literally
dozens. I don’t have much reading time these days and when I do I’m currently
obsessing over Game of Thrones.
What
is your current “work in progress” or upcoming projects?
I just sent book two to my editor. Waiting
anxiously. I’ve signed up for NaNoWriMo and will focus on book three.
Can
you share a little of your current work with us?
Book two is fun! It focuses on Ria and she’s got a
problem. Turns out her psi-mate is a cold blooded killer.
Is
there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
The physical aspect. It’s hard to sit for so long.
I’ve taken to writing standing up whenever possible.
Do
you have to travel much to do research for your books?
I took a portal to Sandaria…
Who
designed the cover of your latest book?
The awesome Renee Rocco at Lyrical Press.
Do
you have any advice for other writers?
Never stop writing. That is the single most
important thing you can do.
Do
you have a song or playlist (book soundtrack) that you think represents this
book?
I don’t know if it represents the book, but this is
what I listened to when writing it.
My Playlist for Alien Attachments
#1
This is kind of interesting
really. When I first started writing I couldn’t listen to music. I couldn’t
write in silence, either. I needed a decent background din to focus. I ended up
spending, probably a couple hundred hours in coffee shops and cafes. Something
about getting out of the house still gets me in the zone quickly. I’ve got a
great writing space at home, but there’s always laundry and cleaning and
delivery’s and, well, you get the idea.
It wasn’t until somewhere around the halfway mark of Alien Attachements
that I started listening to music. My
husband and daughter both write to music and they couldn’t understand how I
managed to write without it. I think I felt a little left out and, frankly, uncool,
so I tried it. Holy Mother of Taco Sauce! It was awesome. Now I can’t write
without it. Even at my local starbucks or café, I’ve got my ear buds in and in
the zone. Anyway, here’s my first ever writing playlist.

Book Description:
Finding one’s psi-mate is something every Sandarian hopes for, but when Ian Cavacent accidentally starts the bonding process with the Earthling, Dani, he has to fight his desire with every ounce of his being. If the process is completed, it would be both political and financial suicide for Ian and his family.
A natural klutz, Dani somehow always manages to land on her feet and win those mixed martial arts matches she’s so fond of. At home on Cat Island her balance is thrown when bazillionaire Ian takes notice.
Unfortunately some butt-ugly Torog aliens also take notice sending her life spiraling out of control and into Ian’s arms. But Dani isn’t the type of woman to let some alien voodoo decide her future or her mate…no matter how gorgeous the man is or how much pleasure he gives her.
For centuries the Cavacents have mined Earth for a precious element, carnium, while protecting the planet from other alien species.
Thanks to the Torogs, Dani and Ian must flee to Sandaria. As Dani learns to use her newfound psi powers, the empire crumbles around them.
Will their love be strong enough to keep them alive and get them back to Earth?

Excerpt:
Waves of
pleasure radiated out from his touch. She looked up into his eyes. They truly
were the greenest eyes she’d ever seen and as she watched, they began to glow.
Oh, shit. Dani
took a slow, shaky breath. She stood in the arms of an alien and this was the
point of no return. Did she want to return?
His thumb
brushed her lower lip.
The heat in her
grew.
“Dani?”
Her name was a
rumbling growl that reverberated deep inside. She tingled everywhere.
He leaned
forward, his mouth brushed her ear. “I’ll leave if you want me to, just say the
word.”
He kissed her
neck, tentatively, questioningly. The
heat of his lips melted any resolve she may have harbored. The thought of him
leaving her now, in this state, was unbearable. Aroused on every level, she
reached her arms around his neck and pressed against him.
This must be a
dream. She moaned as he nipped his way down her neck causing little sparks of
pain. Her entire body rippled with the effect. If I wake up now, I’m killing
the person responsible.
