What inspired you to become an author?
As much
as I love to read, and enjoy other author's works, I wanted to create my own
fiction worlds with characters that made sense to me.
Do you write in different genres?
Paranormal
romance, young adult, new adult, contemporary.
If yes which is your favorite genre to write?
Paranormal.
How did you come up with the title for your latest
book?
I wanted
the title to define the actual book. To tell a story in itself. Being that the
male lead in the book is seeking to free himself of a lifelong enslavement, I
thought Deliverance suited the book very well.
Do you title the book first or wait until after it’s
complete?
Always
title the book first. For some crazy reason I can't explain I'm unable to write
unless the book is titled ahead of time.
Is the book, characters, or any scenes based on a
true life experience, someone you know, or events in your own life?
When it
comes to Deliverance, I did not model the characters, scenes, or book itself
after anyone or anything.
What books/authors have influenced your life?
Every
book I've read has influenced my life in one way or another. I've read many
amazing books, both from well known authors and vice versa and they've inspired
me to continued writing and believe in what I do and my work.
What book are you reading now?
I
recently finished Masquerade by Hannah Fielding.
What books are in your to read pile?
It's funny because I
have over 400 eBooks I haven't even started reading yet. I keep adding books to
my collection, but due to lack of time I haven't gotten around to reading much.
What is your current “work in progress” or upcoming
projects?
I have
book 2 of the Forgotten Divinity series due to be released in December. Book is
a short story and is part of an anthology released in October of 2015 named
Blood in the Shadows.
Can you share a little of your current work with us?
Deliverance
is a new adult, contemporary with paranormal components. We follow a very
unlikely pair as they are forced to embark on a life or death race against time
in an effort to seek help from individuals that might end up being far worse
than the obsessed maniac they are running from.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging
in your writing?
I
over-analyze everything and this can lead me to go back and forth in my
writing. I always question whether things make sense and if the reader will
understand what I'm trying to communicate.
Do you have to travel much to do research for your
books?
I
haven't traveled in a while so most of my research is done vial internet or
local library.

Do you have any advice for other writers?
Never
give up. Follow your dreams. Do plenty of research. And edit, edit, edit.

1:
The guards run
from room to room in an attempt to place the breach in security. They use their
radios to contact every floor and ask where the break has occurred. They
receive a reply within moments, confirming nothing is amiss. They will not find
a breach because there is none. It was set off as a means of distraction. Samuel approaches and
lands a hand on my right shoulder. He calls to me, but I ignore him. He pulls
on my shoulder. I resist.
Now, Tiger!
I open my eyes,
turn slightly to my right, and slam my elbow into his face. Samuel falls on his
knees, clutching his bleeding nose. I bolt. Using what little strength my body
has managed to retain, I run toward the glass window at the end of the hall.
The pain is all but forgotten as adrenaline kicks in.
Bullets whizz
past me, hitting the walls, light fixtures, doors, and the tiled floor. Most
fly over my head. One grazes my left arm, but I use the momentum I’ve gained to
propel my body onward.
Gerard yells to
the men to stop me, but it’s too late. I pick up speed, pushing my injured body
beyond its current capabilities. My target is in sight. I lock my keen eyesight
on the window, and crash into it a few heartbeats later. The glass panel breaks
apart instantly. I freefall for about a second before maneuvering my body so
I’ll land on my feet. Shards of glass accompany me on my way down.
