What inspired you to become an author?

The over following thoughts and stories piling up in my mind I had to unleash my writing demon. Seeing that same passion in my son was my finally push.

How did you come up with the title for your latest book?

Bruxa actually means witch in Portuguese. I know it is a foreign word to most but I think the title lets the reader know that this is something completely different.

Do you title the book first or wait until after it’s complete?

It is the root of my book.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Yes, to never loss yourself even if the world around you is caving in, there is always hope.

Is the book, characters, or any scenes based on a true life experience, someone you know, or events in your own life?

The premise is based on discovering who you are, so yes in that aspect I think we all have been there or will soon to be there.

What books/authors have influenced your life?

I have to say there are a few Stephen king, Jane Austin, but L.J. Smith is my greatest influence she has the ability to write a series and reinvent another one that is just a powerful. Actually, they all share the same trait.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Most defiantly L.J.Smith

What is your current “work in progress” or upcoming projects?

Bruxa (BLOOD TIES) the sequel which keeping my finger crossed will be out Jan-Feb 2013. The reader is going to start seeing a darker side and experience a lot more magic.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Believe in your craft as an extension of soul. Never stop believing in yourself and be opened minded to what other have to say. Remember constructive criticisms will only strength your ability to do better so don’t take criticism to heart. In addition, always believe in your craft, nurse it and it shall grow.

Do you have a song or playlist (book soundtrack) that you think represents this book?

Music is my focus; I plot out my scène listen to certain songs while stuck in traffic. Liknin Park and Silversun Pickups are the two groups that inspire me most.
